This blog is about the emerging cloud platform. No longer are applications and data only stored on a local network or computer, this data is taking to the cloud and software as well. In many cases data is more secure and safe now within the cloud than single point of failure local systems. Whether it be storage, processing power, grids, MapReduce methods, partitioning, clustering, parallel processing or distributed databases, the cloud will be part of it.

About me, I am Ryan Christensen, a software developer and architect for over 10 years. I am excited for the new technology platforms emerging in the cloud making it possible to provide very cheap storage and scalable web applications on demand. The challenges and solutions for designing horizontal and scalable architectures into large web apps is fun and exciting.  It is an interesting time in technology and we hope to capture a glimpse of it and help build it at drawcode.
